Air New Zealand has announced it will partner with New York-based JetBlue subsidiary JetBlue Technology Ventures (JTV) to support the development of new technology in the travel industry.

JTV and Air New Zealand said they will “work together to build an internationally recognized technology innovation ecosystem that will seek out, partner and implement emerging technologies in the travel sector.”

Air New Zealand said the initiative will offer it early access to emerging technologies, and entry to the Silicon Valley innovation network. JTV is based in Silicon Valley, California.

The two companies are the launch partners in the International Innovation Partnership, and they intend to add more partners. JTV said it “expects to announce other travel and hospitality partners to join the ecosystem over the coming months.” All partners joining the initiative will co-locate an “innovation outpost” at the JTV Silicon Valley location, the company said.
