Lufthansa has canceled 895 (40%) out of 1,500 flights for Wednesday, April 27, as a result of a strike called by German public services trade union Verdi. The strike will affect six major German airports—including Frankfurt/Main, Munich, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Dortmund and Hannover. Verdi is calling for a 6% wage increase for its 2.14 million workers.
