AirAsia X placed a firm order for 34 additional A330-900s and managed to negotiate for a previous commitment for 66 of the aircraft. The new commitment for 100 A330-900s were announced July 19 at the Farnborough Air Show and were a highly welcome endorsement for the slow-selling program.
