GE Aviation has described initial test results for the high pressure compressor (HPC) module of the new GE9X engine destined for the Boeing 777X as “very promising.” The HPC module is approaching the 300-hour mark in the test program, having got underway last September at the GE Oil & Gas test facility in Massa, Italy.
