Air Transport World, the leading global air transportation publication and a Penton company, is nearing the close of the nominations process for the 42nd Annual Airline Achievement Awards.

These prestigious awards will be presented at a gala dinner and show Feb. 16, on the eve of the Singapore Air Show. They will recognize the world’s most highly performing airlines and companies based on their financial, operational and customer service standards as well as their management’s innovation, market leadership and dedication to their customers and employees.

Among the Awards to be selected and presented by the ATW Editors will be Aviation Technology Achievement, Airport of the Year, Eco-Company of the Year, Eco-Airline of the Year, Value Airline of the Year, Airline Market Leader and – most prestigious of all – Airline of the Year. Editors will also select a recipient for ATW’s 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award, to honor an individual whose commitment, leadership and endeavors have resulted in significant and lasting contributions that have shaped and promoted the global airline industry.

The ATW Airline Achievement Awards are unique in that they focus solely on the commercial air transport industry and those companies that provide excellent shareholder value, community spirit and operational excellence as well as first-class customer service.

“That combination is extremely difficult to achieve, but it is what we look for and what makes our winners so deserving of recognition,” ATW Editor-in-Chief Karen Walker said. “With the Sept. 30 deadline for submissions nearing, I urge airlines, airports and companies to get their nominations in sooner rather than later. The nomination process is easy, streamlined, can be done on-line and requires no fee. There are so many airlines and commercial air transport companies doing excellent work around the world; now’s the time to make sure that excellence is recognized!”

The 2015 ATW Airline of the Year is Southwest Airlines.
