Oneworld member Royal Jordanian (RJ) and Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways will codeshare on routes to Asia, Australia, Europe, North Africa and Canada, from Feb. 15.

Both carriers offer multiple daily services between their hubs in Amman and Abu Dhabi.

The partnership will see Royal Jordanian place its RJ code on Etihad Airways’ services from Amman to Abu Dhabi, and on to Brisbane (Australia) and Seoul Incheon (South Korea).

Subject to government approvals, RJ will also place its code on Etihad flights to Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calicut, Cochin, Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Trivandrum (India); Manila (Philippines); Beijing and Shanghai (China).

In turn, Etihad Airways will place its EY code on Royal Jordanian flights from Abu Dhabi via Amman to Larnaca (Cyprus) and Berlin (Germany), while Algiers (Algeria), Tunis (Tunisia), Vienna (Austria) and Montreal (Canada) will soon be added to the agreement.

Royal Jordanian operates 9X-weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and Amman with a double-daily frequency in the summer.

Etihad has been serving the route since December 2003 and currently operates two daily flights using a mix of Airbus A320s and Boeing 787-9s.
