Qatar Airways plans to expand its services to Iran, adding a destination and increasing the number of flights to two others.

The flag carrier plans to launch a 2X-weekly direct service to Isfahan from Feb. 4, 2019, and increase services to Shiraz and Tehran early next year.

Isfahan will become the airline’s fourth nonstop gateway to Iran, joining Tehran, Shiraz and Mashad, with the new service operated from Doha by a two-class Airbus A320.

Three extra weekly flights will also be introduced on the Shiraz service, taking the route to daily operation from Jan. 2.

The airline will also add two extra flights to Tehran in January and February, taking the sector to a 3X-daily operation except Tuesdays, which remains 2X-daily.

“These latest launches are further evidence of Qatar Airways’ commitment to Iran, as well as the expansion of our network in this thriving market to provide greater connectivity,” Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker said.
