Oman Air is increasing its exposure to the European market by extending its existing codeshare agreement with Germany’s Lufthansa.

Under the expanded agreement, Muscat-based Oman Air passengers flying to Lufthansa’s Frankfurt and Munich hubs will now be able to connect with flights by the German flag carrier to Madrid, Brussels, Vienna and Prague.

Lufthansa will continue to codeshare with Oman Air on Oman Air-operated services from both Frankfurt and Munich to Muscat.

“Strategic codeshares are a crucial way for us to broaden customer choice. Our continued relationship with Lufthansa is very important for Oman Air,” Oman Air’s CEO Abdulaziz Al Raisi said.

The original codeshare with Lufthansa in March 2017 gave the Arab airline access to 47 destinations on Lufthansa’s network.
