Chicago-based United Airlines has placed an order for 24 Embraer E175s. According to the Brazilian manufacturer, the order represents a transfer of 24 E175 jets previously placed with Republic Airways Holdings, the Indianapolis-based parent of regional carriers Republic Airlines and Shuttle America, currently in Embraer’s backlog, “which will be canceled.” The aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 2017.
